A concept does not arrive finished. It arrives as a pile of half-ideas, and the job is to give them somewhere to collide before deciding which one survives.
Clean work is not the result of a clean process. It is what is left after a messy one has been edited with intent, and the editing is where the craft lives.
I move to the screen late, and only with the two or three directions that survived the sketchbook. Pixels make everything look finished, and finished things are hard to throw away.
On screen the question changes from "is this a good idea" to "does this hold up at every size, with real content, next to the navigation". Most ideas need a second round of reduction here.

The concept that ships is the one that still reads clearly when the copy is longer than planned and the photography is not what we hoped for. Clarity that depends on perfect conditions is not clarity.
